    Collab thread part 4

If you want to join in then mark off a spot on this image, add a number, reupload it, and join in on the fun.

    1. 20,000 tris per object max
    2. No textures, we will worry about that after the geometry is done.
    3. Export your model as a .obj file when you are done.

I sooo want to join, but I am godawful at modeling and all the less-important easy-looking sections have already been claimed.

Parts 18 and 19 are done and they are 19,491 tris total. There are no textures just material ids with solid colors. I added some windows to help give some sense of scale otherwise the building in the back would have looked far smaller than it really is; if you want to get rid of the windows just select material ids 1 and 9.

I added a model of a campera and target point to the obj file so that you can find the correct angle without a problem.

I have also included a .3ds file for anyone using 3d studio max. I did not collapse the objects into single meshes in the .3ds file like I did with the .obj.

    >> Anonymous 01/30/10(Sat)11:07 No.16865
    I totally wanna play.
    a few questions though:
if a part of the image is highlighted, is the person creating everything under the highlighted area?
For example: is No 8 making just the road or are they also responsible for all the individual cars on the road?
how close to these things are we going to get? do we want a full model of each car, boat, airplane, etc. or should we keep them at a low resolution?

Also: is there an archive somewhere where I can see the other threads?
    >> Anonymous 01/30/10(Sat)11:10 No.16867
    >>16865
I would assume the final render will be about the same size as the reference image, at largest. There is a 20k tris guideline so I doubt people will be modeling each car to a high detail.

If you want to create some cars or other small details feel free, it will find its way into the final image I assure you.

If a person marks a road they are just going to model the
road. All the boats and cars have to be claimed individually.
