  • Loli and Shota in /t Anonymous ## Janitor 11/05/06(Sun)02:28 No.394   [Reply]
Since not4chan.us showed up, and the sticky in /t disappeared, are loli and shota still allowed in /t, or should I start weeding them out from now on?

Just because a sticky is gone doesn't mean it doesn't still apply. Just that the staff thinks it's been around long enough for everyone to see. If something said in a sticky were going to be reversed, they'd probably make another sticky about it.
    >> Anonymous 11/22/06(Wed)13:51 No.476
Bumping this so we can get a mod's opinion on this.

There are a lot of loli/shota torrents posted in /t/, and people aren't even subtle about it (post subjects advertising LOLI or SHOTA).
    >> Anonymous ## Janitor 11/22/06(Wed)16:24 No.478
Talking about it on IRC, it's my opinion we change the rules back to their original form. There's really no need for them in /t since other sites already allow them. People also can't request them in /r which kind of kills the usual system anyhow.
    >> Anonymous ## Janitor 11/23/06(Thu)02:06 No.481
Okay, seems final conclusion is no /l or shota torrents. No obviously sexual /l outside /b and /i.
    >> Anonymous ## Admin 11/25/06(Sat)01:22 No.485
    >>478
For those of you who haven't noticed, global rule #3 was updated to the following:

"Do not post the following outside of /b/: Trolls, flames, racism, off-topic replies, uncalled for catchphrases, macro image replies, indecipherable text (example: "lol u tk him 2da bar|?"), anthropomorphic ("furry"), grotesque ("guro"), or loli/shota images."

So now technically loli/shota isn't allowed. Honestly, I don't mind if it is somewhat laxly enforced. Delete blatant lolikon/shotakon, but stuff that is borderline is fine by me--unless people start complaining about it that is.

Reports by Janitors Anonymous 11/22/06(Wed)21:53 No.479   [Reply]
i've been seeing this pop up in the channel, and it has been a concern of mine so i thought i'd ask.

is it possible to flag reports made by logged-in janitors so that they look different in the reports list? if a janitor is dealing with a repeat offender and reports with the intent to ban request, another janitor could come along and delete the reported post without knowing. i don't think it's a huge issue, but better safe than sorry, right?
    >> Anonymous 11/22/06(Wed)23:03 No.480
As an extra request, it would be handy if janitors didn't have to wait between reports for when multiple ban requests/etc are necessary.

    Hello,

Is there a possibility to filter out thrads on the reportpage which were already deleted?

Today i was greeted by a total of 16 reports of which every single post was already deleted. i dont know what happened there but i still had to clear each report one by one.
    >> Anonymous ## Mod 11/13/06(Mon)11:13 No.430
Mods have a "cleanup" button which kills all of the deleted reports on a board. I don't really see why the janitors couldn't be given that button, i don't think you can do any harm with it?
    >> Anonymous 11/14/06(Tue)05:41 No.437
it was this guy again, who spams /s/ with images of gays :/
    and now he hits again.

    please dearest mods, invent somehting.
he seems to works at my mornings (11:30cet) and i cant do anything but deleting.
also he is very very enduring.

Quick note, I'm a douche. When dealing with the cp flood in /v/ earlier, I intended to flag the board for review. However, I did so when looking at /j/ initially. Oops XD

    Hey fellow /j/ team members,

Just wanted to ask your opinion on something. Some of the users of our drama board /cgl/ felt it was necessary to report a bunch of posts that accused a cosplayer of photoshopping her pictures. Not that photoshopping is a big issue for /cgl/, it's done all the time. The posts are not illegal content or breaking the rules of /cgl/. From what I have read, abusing the report function would be reason for a ban.

Should I be escalating these fake reports for bans or clearing them without action?
    >> Anonymous ## Mod 11/16/06(Thu)12:35 No.449
This is something I've wondered as well. How would we punish excessive bad reports?
    >> Anonymous ## Manager 11/16/06(Thu)13:35 No.450
Moderators have a ban reporter button. If you find a series of reports that are a problem, come tell a moderator to ban the reporter. Removing the report removes the way to ban them, though.
    >> Anonymous 11/16/06(Thu)23:37 No.457
This is somewhat on topic: There's at least one person in /a/ who consistently reports EVERY instance of "battletoads," "combat frogs," and similar responses to source requests.

Granted, replying with "battletoads" is pretty stupid, but I generally clear the reports because people realize it's a joke. But there are 3-4 reports a day for "battletoads," and assuming that I'm doing the right thing by clearing them, it would be nice to warn the guy and say "hey, stop reporting this."

It's possible my internet will be shut off, but I am in the process of getting a brand new ISP, so if I am gone it shouldn't be for very long. (/sp/ can usually handle itself anyways, rofl.)
    >> Anonymous ## Mod 11/16/06(Thu)13:42 No.451
Okay, so from around the 20th to the 26th, I'll be with my family in Texas, so glance at /sp/ every once and a while. I might have a computer down there though, so I'll keep you posted.

Texas eh. Hope we get another Bahamas Christmas, I hate the cold.

Yeah my family lives down there and I figured I'd spend Thanksgiving+ with them.

Sorry if I'm not around to do much work over the next week or so, but at the moment, I'm in and out of hospital with eyesight problems. It's kinda serious, but hopefully they'll be able to do something about it. I'll do what I can, but if someone could keep an eye on /h/ for me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks all.
    >> Anonymous 11/13/06(Mon)19:04 No.434
/h/ janitor --> too much fapping --> blindness

    IT ALL MAKES SENSE.

Hope they can fix you up.

No worries. As always, I'm keeping close eye on the board. Be well, comrade.

    /co/ - is Miyazaki acceptable? Anonymous ## Mod 11/13/06(Mon)00:46 No.426   [Reply]
    >>>/co/366562.html
Someone posted a thread in /co/ about grave of the fireflies (which while not technically miyazaki, was made by his studio). Some people told him he shouldn't post that in /co/, and some people said that someone declared Miyazaki (i.e. princess mononoke, kiki's delivery service, spirited away, howl's moving castle etc) as /co/ acceptable. Is this the case or should the thread be deleted?
    >> Anonymous ## Mod 11/13/06(Mon)02:49 No.428
Ah, well, I think they showed whether or not they could have the occasional "classic" anime thread... the thread descended into nothing but flaming so I deleted it.
